Die-Struck Pins
Die-struck pins are stamped from a steel die with no enamel filling — pure recessed and raised metal relief. The look is heritage, vintage, military, fraternal. Best in antique brass, antique gold and gunmetal finishes.
What makes a great die-struck pins.
Without enamel filling to mask the relief, die-struck pins live or die by the quality of the steel die. We CNC-engrave ours in-house to ±0.02 mm tolerance — so the recessed depths and raised lines render crisply under any lighting.
The antique finishes (antique brass, antique gold, antique silver) involve oxidizing the plating then polishing the high-points back to bright metal. The two-tone effect adds depth and authenticity, especially for heritage and military designs.
Die-struck pins ship in slightly thicker stock (1.5-2.5mm vs 1.2mm for enamel) so the relief feels substantial in hand. Tooling fee $80-200, waived on orders > 1,000 pcs.
